Fashion Marketing Online was started to discuss the growth of marketing initiatives by fashion brands, in particular via the internet. The online sector is ever changing and if organisations don't keep up they will be left behind.
We also want to interview key players in the marketing and pr field to hear about the latest trends, how they got to where they are, and see what advice they have to others who would love to be in their shoes.
I first began blogging in late 2008 with my fashion and style blog Harper and Harley. This has given me a great understanding of how blogging can be a tool for brands to reach their target audience, through the use of affiliate programs, advertisments and product placement posting. The most important thing to remember when using blogs as a marketing communication medium is to match the brand with the blog. Blog readers aren't idiots, and they will see right through product placement blog posts that the blogger does not personally believe in, which can reflect poorly on both the brand and the blogger.
